project island pre-visit

On Monday. Nga Rau Puawai and Room 1 was in our class Ria was talking about what we were going to do at Ipipiri islands she said we were going to make rat traps and watch birds and see some sea animals on the way, I was so so excited to go but I was late for the bus, I cried and cried and got ready for school tomorrow morning but back to the subject Ria showed us some dangerous rat traps and some bird statues they made Ria also told us some new words Bio-security,Translocate and some more,Ria was also talking about pest like ants,rats ... , so they needed our help to bring the bird song back so the birds come back and we are also trying to make traps so the pests go away,Ria said some new birds we kind of know but not really like a Kakariki bird a saddle back a bird with a brown saddle on it a Robin you might know about it but here are some awesome facts about birds did you know a Robin bird means a symbol of good luck. back to what I was talking about the best part of the pre-visit was that we got to see the bird statues and learn new things, Debs was another project island worker or assistant to help Ria I loved Ria and Debs talk about project island song sorry I couldn't go I slept in I'm so sorry all I need to know is you guys had fun I hope debs and ria see this post of all the fun I had having you guys visit bye 😘😘👋

Mahina's raft

   

We are learning about our Awa and finding out what waka are on our awa.  I have used google drawing to design a waka.   I watched a video to make a raft.  To make a raft I will use 2x bottles plastic ,    1x straw plastic,     1x block wooden,  1x balloon rubber ,

fun run friday

last friday we ran I was the 7th person who ran but it was okay because unless I was still running but when I heard the horn I got really nervis. when I got running I was the 8th but then I ran in front of Kaia and then I was the 7th. the race was getting really tiering I said to myself  this can't get woarst and then we went through a muddy farm my shoe got stuck in the mud so I putted it back on but when I  was putting it back on  Kaia  was catching up so as soon as I put my shoe on Quickly and keep on running .     when I made it through I went under the net wheaea Whetu helped me under the net  she said I was the fastest person through and then we ran around the huge field and we had to do a ladder but I did not want to do that I did not know how to do the ladders

----------------------------------- EELS/TUNA’S…. ----------------------------------- We are learning about eels. EEL APPEARANCE. Tuna are silver and black but when you pull them out of the awa than they look slimy and yuck. EEL DIET. Eels diet is water snails, meat , bait , shrimp , feeder .fish , mollusks ,crabs , ducklings. EEL LIFE CYCLE Eels first come out like a egg then they turn into a larvae and then drift to NZ it takes them 17 months to arrive then they turn into glass eels and then into elver eels then a adult and it starts all around again and again.
